Periodic minima in X-rays and other wavebands show it as an extremely eccentric binary with a massive companion. A surprising change in the X-ray emission during the January 2009 X-ray minimum probably indicates a large-scale variation in the LBV primary's mass loss rate. We propose a Suzaku observation in AO6 to monitor the change of the absorption column in the line of sight and the non-thermal emission above 10 keV. The observation will help to study geometry of the binary orbit of Eta Car and the mechanism of the non-thermal emission.
