But the extent as well as the physical properties of the corona are yet to be determined. We request deep Suzaku XIS observations of the soft X-ray background in the vicinity of LMC X-3, toward which we have already conducted far-UV and X-ray absorption line spectroscopy. We have developed a software tool for a joint model fit to the absorption and emission data, allowing for statistical tests of various models and constraints on such parameters as hot gas temperature, density, and scale.
