MBM20 absorbs about 75% of the foreground emission in the keV energy band, while the Eridanus Hole absorbs only 8%. The shadow of the cloud will be used to study the energy distribution of the X-ray foreground in the energy range 0.4-2 keV, to separate O VII and O VIII lines and study the composition and evolution of the LB. The comparison with the spectrum from the Eridanus Hole will be used to estimate the background emission due to the galactic halo and extragalactic source.
