The ultimate nuclear power source, be it AGN or compact starburst, of ULIRGs has been the focus of much debate since their discovery with the IRAS mission. While observations with Spitzer are unlocking the secrets of many nearby ULIRGs, some have nuclei that are apparently so obscured as to be optically thick even in the mid-IR. We have chosen three local ULIRGs, IRAS 08572+3915, IRAS15250+3609, and IRAS20551-4250 that are IR-bright, yet highly obscured for deep Suzaku observations to search for the tell-tale signs of a buried AGN: hard X-ray emission behind significant column densities of HI gas.
