With the requested time we aim to detect the Warm Hot Intergalactic Medium (WHIM) by its thermal soft-Xray emission, to resolve one of the major problems of modern astrophysics - the missing baryons , which are now thought to reside in the filaments connecting clusters. In addition to a full understanding of the typical baryon fraction, the proposed observations will allow us to study the gas clumping in the cluster outskirts. Furthermore, a combined analysis of X-ray and optical data will enable us to shed light on the influence of the environments on galaxy evolution.
