Apollo Seismic Experiments

Through NASA Apollo program, the first manned landing on the Moon has been achieved. At the Apollo 11 landing site, the astronauts deployed the first scientific instrument package called EASAP (Early Apollo Surface Experiment Package). On subsequent landings during the Apollo 12, 14, 15, 16 and 17 missions, a series of packages called the ALSEP (Apollo Lunar Surface Experiment Package) were deployed to investigate the lunar surface, interior and environment through various equipments.
In ALSEP experiments, two types of planetary seismological experiments, passive and active, were performed. You can download each set of the lunar seismic data in ASCII format or in the original archived format from our system. Please see following pages.
